John
Tung, Cliff Soon Room
B-11/13 “The
Church Is Responsible for So Much Injustice!” “How
Can a Loving God Send People to Hell?” “Science
Has Disproved Christianity!” “You
Can’t Take the Bible Literally!” These
are just a few of the questions and doubts even ardent believers wrestle with
today. In
this class, we will be using the book The Reason for God, by Timothy
Keller, founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NYC, who addresses
the most frequently voiced “doubts” skeptics bring to him as well as the most
important reasons for our faith. Using
this book, we will discuss these questions and examine the alternatives to
Christianity. The
purpose of this study is to understand the reasons for our faith and be able
to humbly, but intelligently, answer some of the most voiced doubts about it.
In doing so we hope to gain a better appreciation of our faith and our God. The class schedule is
below. It is highly recommended
you read the relevant chapter prior to the class that Sun. If you need to buy a copy of the book, they
are available in the church Bookstore (inside the church Library in the
Visitor’s Lounge on the 1st floor). |
